COVID Positive – My journey back

A walk during my recovery

Record of My Covid positive Journey

Day 0 night – the uneasy night started when kid cried in her dream. The first time we thought it was due to nightmare. For the second during the night, we knew something is wrong, we used the asthma medicine and things slightly improve

Day 1: feel sore throat

Day 2: fatigue and directly sleep for the whole afternoon

Day 3: very tired, muscle ache and headache

Day 4: very tired, muscle ache and headache and lost appetite

Day 5:  fatigue and directly sleep for the whole afternoon

Day 6: same —– get worse, stopped getting up early or concentrate on anything.

Day 7: try to work normal hours, then sleep 12hrs

Day 8: headache and fatigue worsened, ask for sick out

Day 9: headache and fatigue became better, have some energies and start to pickup some of my good habits, such as writing post, accordion, surfskating exercise, plan travel for other places.

Day 10: still feel exhausted, harder to concentrate, still congestion in chest. But I am able to take a walk, concentrate on reading books and writing posts.

Day 11: my recovery is pretty slow, I don’t see significant improvement today, but at least no deterioration. Hope for the best that I didn’t get any long term symptoms from COVID

Strategy of adjusting strategy when sick:

1) still put interpersonal communication first

2) For assigned work get the ball rolling, keep some momentum, delegate when possible.

3)delay all activities that’s not helpful to recovery, prioritize rest and hydrate, nutrition. Quick recovery is the most efficient way to catch up.

4) admit the lower quality of thinking produced when sick.

5)admit that it is hard.

6)resist to any temptation of excessive activities, including sex, big eating and such. I follow eastern wisdom on this part, let body heal itself, do not give too much stimulus, wait for it to store up energy and gradually become more sensitive to surrounding until a point that is natural to happen. No need to frighten, seduce, force drive the body into any state, follow the natural way to recover.

Also stay close to nature as much as possible:
